As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Manson Engineering, I played a key role in the design and implementation of a new ferry pier at Auckland’s Downtown Ferry Terminal. This project was critical for enhancing the city’s maritime infrastructure, accommodating increased passenger traffic, and improving overall operational efficiency.
My responsibilities included developing detailed technical drawings and overseeing the manufacturing processes for the pier’s structural components. The design focused on creating a robust, durable structure capable of withstanding harsh marine conditions while ensuring ease of access and safety for passengers. Key features included the integration of modern gangways and aesthetic elements that aligned with the surrounding architectural landscape.
Additionally, I collaborated closely with on-site production engineers to ensure seamless installation and adherence to stringent safety and quality standards. The successful completion of this project not only improved ferry services in one of Auckland’s busiest terminals but also demonstrated my ability to manage complex engineering tasks from design through to execution.
